Some of the responses to this thread are alittle irratating, "Ohh god Noooo", and "Can we have more Gaming content please". Just as point of fact as far as i can see no-one is recommending that this be implimented as a substitute to gaming content, and should it be i will be one of the first to start shouting "ang on a sec mate" but as an enhancement i see no reason against it. GW is a growing community. People meet friends, play amoungst guild's and heck some people even for "real life" relationships....(personally EEK but thats just my opinion which is not universal). So whats wrong with a little fun. The comunity has asked for things like haircuts, armour customisation, why not marriages?

I said it before i'll say it again...its a good idea.

Although 10K for a marriage...thats a little too realistic! Infact when i paid for my "real life" wedding that didnt happen (long personal story) that only cost 8.5 GBP. Which is about 16k $ (i think not sure about exchange rates right now).

Anyways i think its cool

Oh yes also Gay marriages (legal that is) are actually allowed in most countries, (i dont think the UK is one yet) but as far as religious ceromonies go i think there are only a few that would actually perform the religious side of the marriage.

The Anglican Church accepts them...

actually, it's just the opposite: ingame weddings are for players that are too young to be thinking of doing it IRL yet, and for whom it's fun to do in a game Most people play a game for things they can't or won't do IRL (like chasing trolls through ice caves, or beating the crap out of other people and being praised for that).

But for those that are interested in RPed romances, it's actually very fun (I used to play an old MMORPG that had engagement ceremonies in a flower grove and weddings in nice chapel with NPC priest, confetti and red hearts flying all over the couple after the ceremony - nice stuff).

That was a very different kind of game though, and a true RPG, not an action game ... I don't think it fits in GW ... not at all, lol .

omg, nooooo. I only read the OP, so if Im saying what has already been said...too bad! It's worth repeating a 1000 times anyhow.

People who need online marriages.....well, open up a Psych 101 textbook and take your pick.

If you met someone online, they are lying.. If you know them in real life, then get married in real life. If all your friends play and you think it would be sentimental or some crap, then roleplay it.

If GW implements this, I quit. There are enough yuppies running around already, lets not attract more.

No, this is gay.

I like the idea of a shared box though, maybe there should be something like a Guild Box?

Well i havent posted here in a while...but i have some more "pro IG marriages". For those of you that dont want to, dont waste your time either reading the posts relating to, or bothering to interact with those participating. Anet wont add this feature to the game, but that doesnt mean players cant enjoy the fun of doing it.

Ok for all of you who think that "this is Gay" firstly, look the term up in a dictionary...you'll find primarily it means happy, secondarily, you'll notice is a derogatory term used for homosexuals. Nothing to actually do with the idea of marriage between two players cant actually be "gay" as two CGC (computer generated characters) cant actually comit the act of same sex relations, as its not featured in the game

Ok now for those of you that think this people who want IG marriages is psychotic...well firstly perhaps people playing are safe enough with their own sexuallity to say "hey its a game and a bit of fun" instead of "ohh wow she really loves me" also have you actually considered that many RL couples play together?

Well anyway once again, food for thought for some of you

Me and my soon to be wife play this game together quite often. Although, I never really thought about "in game" marriages. I could see it as being fun though in a way. However, if you consider the idea "gay" or would like to add in some "gay." i'm sure same gender marriages could be added just as easy.

Disclaimer Note: The term "gay" used in this post is not, was not, or in anyway used to harrass, offend, or make fun of any beliefs, thoughts, or ideas you may have about the term "gay".

Me likes the house idea though
just like a guildhall , only much smaller en upgradable. with extra storage and stuff.

And with enough money. you can make a mansion, or a castle, with features like drawbridges, motes and of course. sharks.

no seriously. i would like houses. kind of a fun way to get your money rolling.

AND you got something to show. So make a way to invite players you want into your home.
and stuff.

ill think this one out when im not at work .. lol
